SPECIAL OPERATIONS

An Unmet Need

Founded in 2017, Special Operations was born from an unmet need in our community — the need for boots-on-the-ground private forces to prioritize the search and rescue of at-risk youth in crisis situations who have a high likelihood of being trafficked for sex. We hire specialized private investigators to find and rescue the young victims, we get them the help they need, and we support law enforcement efforts to send the criminals – both the traffickers and rapists – to prison.

LAW ENFORCEMENT NEEDS OUR HELP

Resource limitations and geographic restrictions prevent even the most dedicated law enforcement agencies from proactively searching for runaway and missing children. While hundreds of thousands of tips about sex trafficking are sent to law enforcement agencies each year, they do not have the bandwidth to investigate these tips or engage in long searches for missing children. The nature of sex trafficking also makes it difficult for law enforcement to pursue. When a groomed adolescent voluntarily gets into someone’s car, it is not classified as a criminal abduction and will not receive much attention from law enforcement.

Our Intervention

Because we are a victim-centered charitable organization — and not the Government, or law enforcement — it feels less threatening to family and community members working with trauma victims to reach out to us for help. Our team of private investigators and retired law enforcement officers have decades of experience in counter-trafficking work and know how to find both victims and perpetrators.

We gather evidence that elevates cases within law enforcement agencies from classifying youth as “runaway” – considered as less serious – to a potential “crime victim”. We work closely with federal agencies, law enforcement and other charitable organizations to proactively find and rescue the young victims.

Once located we work within our network to provide survivors with direct emergency assistance—housing, financial assistance, legal help, emotional support, counseling — whatever they need to feel safe and begin their journey of healing.

Special Operations tracks the survivors and their families to ensure they are protected. When survivors feel completely safe and empowered to testify, traffickers go to prison.

What’s Next?

Our Goal is to dispatch private investigative teams across America to help find missing children. We want to see an America where the sexual exploitation of minors is eradicated because the risk to traffickers and buyers of being caught and held accountable is too high.
