| Recently, a mother reached out to Finding Kids after her daughter, Sara* (17) went missing again. She found our website, filled out an intake form, and asked for help in a challenging situation she had been trying to navigate for years.
Sara has long navigated serious mental health challenges, unsafe peer relationships, and online influences that placed her at repeated risk. Her struggles had led to multiple hospitalizations, police involvement, and several past episodes of running away. Even with moments of progress, she remained vulnerable, and as she approached adulthood, her parents had fewer tools to keep her safe. Once Sara turned 18, they realized she would have a legal right to go missing, and their ability to get her the help she needed would be limited.
With her most recent disappearance, Sara’s mother feared she had left the area. Our Private Investigator immediately began coordinating between multiple jurisdictions, gathering digital intelligence, and conducting fieldwork. Through careful surveillance, the PI confirmed Sara had been transported from Fresno to Sacramento. Authorities were given the necessary information to recover her shortly thereafter. The Finding Kids aftercare team is now working with Sara and her family to ensure she is getting the care she needs.
