Two of our child advocates along with two private investigators found 16-year-old Sienna and provided her with life-saving, emergency assistance last night. With the approval of county officials, we provided solutions for many of the gaps in the system.
Sienna was wearing the only clothes she had, (which were wet and smelly) so we took her to Target and let her pick out some cute outfits. She was starving, so we took her to Chipotle for lunch. We drove her to the hospital and stayed by her side the entire afternoon.
We brought cookies to the emergency foster mom and we made sure Sienna would be comfortable and safe in the home. We gave Sienna a phone so she could call us if she felt scared. One of our investigators stayed outside the house all night to ensure no pimps returned to find her.
No other charity does this.
Here’s the text message we received this morning from Sienna:
“Hey, I just wanted to say once again thank you so much. You and your team have helped me a lot. You helped me reflect on my life. I want better for myself. I will be working hard and am hurting, too, for sure. Just being a part of my healing process is a huge blessing. Goodnight, I had fun with you guys today.”
Today, predators can reach vulnerable children through phones, social media, gaming platforms, and the internet, often before families realize something is wrong. Finding Kids responds through three core programs: Recover. Care. Target. We help locate missing and exploited children, support families during and after recovery, and work with law enforcement to identify and disrupt those who exploit youth. Our work continues after a child is found because recovery is only the beginning. By combining investigations, aftercare, and prevention, we help children return safely to their homes, schools, and communities while building a future where every vulnerable child receives help before crisis becomes exploitation. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly towards keeping kids safe. We cannot do this work without your support.
