Local Station highlights National Missing Childrens Day

Local Station highlights National Missing Childrens Day

We hope you will watch the Kron4 News report, below, that aired this morning with Special Operations’ CEO, Isabelle Finney. She discusses the prevalence of missing children, and what parents and caregivers can do to keep kids safe from predators.

In California, 60,346 youth were reported missing last year (over 337,195 nationwide) – the vast majority of whom were endangered runaways. The number of missing and vulnerable children is likely far higher than that as many are never even reported as missing to the police. According to the Department of Justice, one-third of teens living on the street are approached by a pimp within 48 hours.

We are asking local governments to prioritize the safety of our children, and we want to raise community awareness of the hidden dangers that missing children face. We encourage parents and all community members to be aware of who in your community may be missing.

You can help keep your children safe by monitoring what they are doing in their spare time and limiting access to social media. But above all, hold your children tight, and reach out to support struggling families and vulnerable children in your community.

To learn more about what you can do locally, contact your Special Operations County Champion, or send an email to info@findingkids.org

Predators are targeting children all over America. They do this because it is lucrative and they think they can get away with it. Children are often too trusting, and even the most engaged parent may not realize what is happening until after tragedy strikes. Special Operations’ network of undercover private investigators gathers the evidence to help law enforcement rescue victims and arrest the criminals. After the rescue, we ensure survivors remain safe and begin the journey of restoration. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly towards keeping kids safe. We cannot do this work without your support.
