REDWOOD CITY, CA — Redwood City police arrested a man last week on suspicion of running a pimping and pandering operation in multiple Bay Area cities.
Lavell Boyland, 33, is accused of acting as a pimp for a female victim, sending her to commit acts of prostitution in Redwood City, Burlingame, San Mateo, Stockton and Oakland, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
The Redwood City Department Street Crime Suppression Team began its investigation in April. Boyland, who was out on parole, also removed his GPS ankle monitor and was involved in a domestic violence incident in Pacifica with the same victim, according to police.
Boyland was taken into custody on July 1 at a hotel in Emeryville by Redwood City detectives and the U.S. Marshall’s Service Fugitive Task Force. He was charged with pimping and pandering, possession of narcotics for sale and committing a felony while out on bail. Boyland was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
