NEEDS OUR HELP TO FIND MISSING CHILDREN
Each year, half a million American children are reported missing. Many are from foster care and classified as “runaways,” not thought to be missing until it’s too late. Many are exploited into drugs and commercial sex work. Any child with a cell phone or social media account is at risk–even in “safe” communities. Unlike a burglary or a kidnapping where police respond immediately, crimes against runaways require a proactive investigation. In most cases, the victims are too frightened to testify against the criminal. According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, 75% of its missing children cases are related to online sex advertisements.
